For the next two weeks we have an addition to our family, Manami. Manami is a 15 year old foreign exchange student from Japan. She has 1 brother. Imagine the shock that our family is to her. We keep trying to explain that our family is not a typical American family. With the communication barrier we are really worried what her city is going to think of Americans.
After last night's dinner, I don't know if she will last the full 18 days. Al was working late and I was attempting to converse with Manami using only nouns, keep the kids under control, and eat my own food. The kids managed to get into their favorite dinner routine of singing, dancing, yelling, hitting, crying, a little eating, potty breaks, whining, and Duck-Duck-Goose. It just didn't feel complete until Jake threw his plate of Hawaiian Haystacks all over himself, the floor, and me and then drizzled water on top of all of it, shouting and pointing "Mess, Mess, Mess" as I was trying to clean it all up.

If all else fails at least you can count on consistancy, right? and you never have to complain about being bored.
