If A Spoonful of Sugar Makes the Medicine Go Down, What Does a Cupful Do?

This morning as I was acting like a human blanket trying to get Abby to sleep a little longer, the three oldest were watching Peter Pan and having a bowl of dry cornflakes. Al had to leave for work early, Abby is a beast if she hasn't gotten enough sleep, and the movie was a rare treat for the kids that we thought would keep them quiet enough to keep Abby asleep. They were quiet alright.

I was forcing myself to breathe shallow as the slightest movement would cause Abby to wake up. She is such a light sleeper that turning to check the clock, caused her to pop up fully awake. I heard the kids getting more cereal. I was stuck with the dilemma of going to check on them and waking Abby up or just being still and letting them make a mess. How big of mess can cornflakes really make? I figured that it would be much more difficult to keep Abby happy later on in the day than sweep up a few crumbs. I was wrong.

15 minutes later when I couldn't take being the human blanket any longer, I tried to sneak out of bed. Abby instantly popped up ready to start her day. We walked into the living room to find not only corn flakes everywhere, but what does every good bowl of cornflakes need, SUGAR! Over a cup of sugar had been dumped in the bowls, on the nice coffee table, piles on the floor, piles on the leather couches.

The three of them sat in a timeout while I tried to find a solution on the internet of "How to cleanup sugar without having a sticky mess." My search was futile. Aly and AJ tried to blame everything on Caleb, who just smiled. They all seemed confused when I told them no jam on their toast or any juice for breakfast, they had enough sugar for one day.

Lisa! It is good to find you on here! Funny..but we had a similar sugar story yesterday...Tate and Rylan were trying to "help" me make our FHE treat. Let me know if you figured out how to clean it up...I'm still finding sticky sugar spots all over my kitchen!
