We returned home this morning at 5:30 AM after a road trip weekend that was filled with about as much fun as possible in one weekend. We were away from our house for less than 60 hours, 20 of that was in the car, and we still managed to see Niagara Falls, visit all kinds of sites in Palmyra, take a trip to the ER, swim in the hotel pool, attend church, get all muddy by the Susquehanna River, see Scranton PA, see Uncle Joe on the last day of his mission in Harrisburg-PA, and spend lots of time playing with grandparents. We somehow managed to eat meals and sleep as well.
Al left early for work today, and is on call at the hospital tonight. I have avoided the garage at all costs today hoping that the Road Trip Fairies would take pity on us and magically cleaned out the burb. I may become a non-believer. At 10 PM tonight when I went out to survey the situation, the burb looked as beastie as ever. Dirty clothes, shoes, CDs, sippy cups, broken Wheat Thins, and wet licorice made the floor unnoticeable. Road tripping was a lot less messy when we only had one child.

When the fairys are done at your house, send them my way :-). Sounds like a crazy, but rewarding weekend.
Wow, that is one crazy road trip! I hope I can someday be as adventurous as you; I don't even know if it's possible, you must be superhuman :)
I couldn't believe what I was reading because I was about to post about our 60 hour trip to SLC - though we didn't have as much fun! The wedding was great, but I totally feel for you on the last hours having to go to the bathroom - I wasn't going to wake up the kids for anything! Thanks for having a blog - I get some great laughs at your real life stories. You do a great job making the stories come alive!
