Friday night we headed to the zoo for their special Easter party. It basically consisted of several vendors handing out candy (I am sure that some of it was remnants from Halloween), a few side shows, and free rides on the carousel. People came out in droves.
The night was more fun that it started out in the parking lot. While we were loading our triple stroller up with kids, a mother actually stood about 10 feet away with her mouth open staring the whole time. It took some restraint on my part not to yell, "You want a piece of me?"
We were glad to have an excuse to meet up with some family, but were amazed at how long people were willing to wait in line to get a tootsie roll. Luckily our kids were more interested in the animals so we were able to bypass most of the lines. There is something about our society that if something is "free" we must get it. I have to admit that I was leered to some of the shorter lines, all for a little hershey kiss.
I was proud as we got to the car that for the first time ever since moving here, we left the zoo without a child screaming all the way to the car. Perhaps we are entering a new stage in life!

It was a great time and the kids did great! I think you should have said that to that woman, it would have been great to see her reaction.
